This is a charity which desexes, vaccinates and worms feral cat colonies and replaces them into their Industrial homes. Desexed cats prevent strays from establishing territory, thereby reducing the cat population.
Around Hamilton there are countless hundreds of cats and kittens, SAVED by The Humane Alternative Cats Group, who have been responsible giving them back a life. These cats were once abandoned, hurt and injured, dumped and forgotten. Our Group works with the vets to have every animal, checked, immunised, and desexed before being re-homed.
The Group started 15 years ago, saving ferals in Morrinsville after our local Newspaper reported an out-cry from the Public, how these cats and kittens were rounded up and being gassed. Dave Thompson, together with Gaye (his partner), Norm and Pat,(his parents), helped trap and take on caring for these unwanted strays. Since way back then, our
Group Membership keeps growing. We Welcome New Members, and are always looking for good people to come on
board to help.
Since that time some years have passed and we are still taking in domestic
cats and kittens to immunise, desex and rehome. We also have members of our
Group taking cats to show at Hamilton's Malls, Supermarkets, and other places to promote the Group and seek to
re-home cats. We seek the Public help for donations, purchase a raffle
ticket, or hopefully take one of our cats home.
All our work is voluntary, with our major bills are always food and
Veterinary care.
Having a NO KILL POLICY, means just that. All our cats and kittens are
given the best help to survive and turn into healthy loving animals we can pass on
to caring new owners.
